DIY Simple Rustic ToolBox in Blue

Turn simple pine lumber into a fun and functional piece. For more details click on over to my blog post. How to get the distressed finish is linked as well
We made this tool box from 1 x 6 pine lumber. The sizes depend on what size you want your finished product to be. I drew out a pattern for the ends, traced them on the wood and cut with a jig saw.
We assembled the side pieces or aprons first, run a bead of glue on all joints as we are using a brad nailer instead of screws today. See my other post on building a vintage crate/box for another way of assembling.
With the side pieces glued and nailed insert end pieces between them and on top of the bottom plate and nail into place.
Measure distance between end pieces and cut closet pole to size and attach with screws. Finish off however you like. I will most likely put an exterior varathane on mine to give it a durable finish.
