A Great Little Trunk

A lovely couple who downsized this past year were generous enough to give me a few of their wonderful pieces. This trunk was one of my favourite.
It was an army green, a little beaten up from years of use and subsequent storage - but with a lot of love, oil, paint and wax it stands proud :)
I wanted to keep as much of it's original finishes but clean it up a bit - An antique white was applied and then dark waxed.
The wood was re-stained and sealed. And the interior and leather handles were left as is.
The new and the old blended well & maintained its integrity.

I have a trunk exactly the same as yours...am trying to decide what I am going to do with it ...winter project for the year. I was thinking gray for basic colour...want to strip the wood and refinish and paint the metal black but not sure yet it it will be gloss or semi gloss....seeing yours made me really want to get mine done...beautiful
