Turquoise Hall Tree Made Out of An Old Door

by MacGIRLver
I'm on a roll with hall trees. I really enjoy making them. I start with an old door, and have found that I can use quite a variety and still make it work.
I added a sewing stool that was in terrible shape, instead of gluing it back together I decided to use the pieces in this project. I used the sides and the front.
I added old knobs from knob and tube wiring so keys, etc, could be hung on the sides.
A little embellishment on the side of the original stool front.
The seat lifts for storage.
I attached an old doorknob.

Hi, I know this is an older post, but I just found it. I'm thinking of doing this, except using 2 doors and attach a bench. I'd like to put a shelf on top and put a rod/dowel to hang hangers on for coats and snowpants. We have 8 kids and in winter there's no where to hang wet snow gear after fun in the snow. Do you think something like this would be ok free-standing without the support of a wall? I have no wall space due to open-concept design of our home. Thanks, Andrea
