Upcycled Changing Table to Console Table

I had been searching Craigslist and resale websites for months, watching for the perfect console table for my living room. I finally gave up hope, and then this boring changing table was listed at $20. For that price, I figured I would give it the old college try and see if I could turn it into something more!
After convincing my husband to bring it home for me, I brushed it off and painted it with an awesome chalk paint. This is the first coat.

I gave it a second coat of paint and applied a tough coat sealant. Then I drilled holes for hardware and decoupaged fabric to the shelves.
I brought it up to my living room and turned it into a console table! I think it works!
Yeah, it still looks a little like a changing table, but for $20 I am fine with it!

I think it's awesome and you had a great taste. What is covering the shelves? Paper? Thank you!
