Wrinkles in the paper I applied to the walls and floors of a dollhouse

I used scrapbook paper to the walls and floors of a DIY barbie dollhouse last night. The wrinkles on the wall are really not going to work. Any idea how to remove the paper after this process? I have applied two layers of mod podge over the paper.

I've done a large 9 room Victorian dollhouse. The bubbles appear from air pockets between the paper and the wall of the dollhouse. The adhesive you used may have been too wet, taking much longer for it to dry and allowing for the air bubbles. You can either pull out the paper and start again OR take and exacto knife, make a tiny slit in each air bubble and apply a clear adhesive like modge podge to the area (keep it small). This should eliminate all of the bubbles and keep them from coming back. Good luck. Building a Dollhouse is indeed a labor of love!

@Gail Peck Mod podge is water-based glue but it is glue so it will cure. Therefore, I'd make it moist immediately to remove it. Make it as damp as it needs to be to remove it (read: that is not soaken wet with water but ... a little damp!) I'd use a little scraper to get it all gone. And perhaps you may need to sand the wood/surface a bit to get it totally smooth, if that's important. Next time, when you use modpodge, then make BOTH sides of the paper slightly moist and use a soft firm edge (like scrapbookers use a professional tool, but the back of a comb or the handle of a fork or spoon works too) and gently work out any wrinkles when you apply the paper. Hope it all works for you.

I had that same problem - realized that any surface - wood or foam board is never truly flat and ripples or imperfections are hard to avoid with paper. I used a large cut up gift bag for wall paper on my Barbie Brunch scene and it worked fantastic - thicker and more forgiving. Best of luck!
