A Spring Vignette in the Foyer

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
I just published a post here on Hometalk to show you the results of the spring bulbs that I forced to bloom indoors. I cut the beautiful tulips and placed them in our foyer for a spring vignette.
I like to use seasonal vignettes on the dresser in our foyer. It's a nice way to greet our guests, and we enjoy seeing the vignettes every time we walk by.
The arrangement is very simple. I placed the tulips in a clear blue pitcher that my mother used when I was a little girl. I think she bought it at the five and dime store for a dollar. I put a vintage Easter postcard in a fancy frame that my friend gave me. When displayed in a pretty frame, old postcards make lovely art. This one is over 100 years old. We have a source for "new vintage" postcards on our blog.
Even though this is an Easter postcard, the scene in the middle is of an old windmill and cottage. I'm not sure what that has to do with Easter, but it is still lovely.
Since the best vignettes are made with odd numbered items, the third piece is an old milk glass candy dish shaped like a chicken. If you would like to see more photos, please visit our blog.
