The Special Vanity

I was really excited to find this vanity at a thrift store. The frame was missing the mirror and the top was pretty yucky, but to me it was perfect! The back was stamped "special" so I am calling it "The Special Vanity".
I had a local glass company make a new mirror for the frame.
Per the photo below, this vanity is truly special!
I chose a color scheme of Old White and Paris Grey. I think it gives the piece a classic finish.
Initially I planned to stain the top, but in the end I decided to paint. Despite multiple sanding sessions, I didn't think the damaged area would take a stain properly. I applied three coats of shellac over the sanded top prior to painting.
I love all the curves and details on this piece.
I painted the drawer pulls in Paris Grey to balance the color with the top.
There is medium distressing throughout to compliment the age of the vanity.
My hope is that the new finish will give this lovely piece a second chance.
