From Cupboard Door to Chalkboard

Easy
If you are new to chalk painting and want to give it a try, this is an easy project for a beginner, but still a fun project for a seasoned chalk painter!
I don't know why I waited so long to learn about chalk painting!
We used random cupboard doors of various sizes. These are fairly easy and inexpensive to find at Habitat for Humanity or other salvage stores, or even big box home improvement stores may have them available on the cheap when they are clearing old styles out to make way for new!
Being new to chalk painting myself, I found the hardest part was choosing the color! There are so many to choose from!

Once I decided on the colors, it project zoomed along. Since we did a two colour distressed finish, it was just waiting for each coat to dry that took some time.
After one coat of each colour (dried in between), a light sand to distress the finish was followed by a coat of clear wax. This was seriously the step I most feared, but it was so simple.
I couldn't be happier with the colours I choose and the finished project! You can read more about it by clicking the link below!
