I took a piece and cut out a letter and wrapped it in yarn then hung a ribbon behind it and hung it on my wall.

You can use it to make a cornice board. It would be lightweight and easy to make I to any creative shape you wanted.

I've used pieces like that for art. Wrap it in canvas or fabric and glue down in the back. Now you have a super lightweight canvas that you can paint or glue photos or other items on for artwork. It's great if you have small kids because if they knock it off the wall, it can't hurt them :) Good luck.

You can use it to make a message board. Find you some pretty fabric and ribbons with matching button tacks. You might have to mount it on a piece of cardboard to get the fabric to stick but then crisscross your ribbon and use the matching button tacks to make your sections.

cover it with some quilt batting and fabric securing them either with glue or staples or hot glue, and then criss cross it with coordinating or contrasting ribbon using tack at the crosses (a bit of hot Glue keeps them in place) and viola you have a plce to display pictures or childrens art

I made two cornice boards for my kitchen. They are red checked and the fabric is not straight -- it is ruffled and beautiful! I hot-glued coke openers on the back to hang it with -- too easy. Love them!
