Vintage TV Cabinet Turned Dog Bed!

My In Laws had this old Vintage TV cabinet sitting up at their Cabin. It had long ago stopped working and had held a different working TV on top of it for years. They let me have it for this project, and I love how it turned out!
It's not really that difficult to remove the "TV Guts" that are inside these cabinets! Some screws to remove, a few cables to unhook, and you should use caution when removing the Glass TV tube it can be pretty bad if it breaks! It took about 30 minutes to take all the insides out.
What was left was this very sturdy empty cabinet! From here you could do so many things! For me, I wanted a place for the pooch to relax, and a stand for all my house plants!
Sanded down some rough edges and gave the inside a simple coat of paint. You could take it a step further and add some chipboard on the bottom to cover up the holes and ridges, I wasn't worried about that for this purpose the paint was enough!
We took the back panel of the TV console and covered it in some fabric and screwed it back onto the TV, put in Dobby's pillow and food, and he has his own little house right in the living room!
And the top of the cabinet makes a really great place to set my plants, right by the window! They love it there almost as much as the dog does!

This room is scheduled for a repaint in a few months, and when that happens I think the dogs cabinet will get a paint update too!

Great idea. One of the most creative I've seen in a long time. Another great dog bed project is an old suit case. A little padding and great for people who travel with their dog. Have dog+bed can travel.
