Ugly cultured marble

Hi all! My bathroom vanity is topped by a one piece sink and counter made out of cultured marble. The cream colour is okay, but there are intermittent poopy brown swirls. I figured I could probably paint the counter, but am concerned by the sink, as this is in my main bathroom.I thought of using porcelain paint in the sink and doing a granite effect on the counter part. I did see that someone did a cool concrete effect on their entire top, does anyone else have a suggestion? I need something that will wear well, since this isn't a guest bathroom. I do plan on changing the whole vanity down the road, but it is not currently in the budget. Thanks!

Oh dear, poopy brown swirls isn't sounding great. The simplest way I can think of painting it would be to use a stone effect spray pain... something like plasti-kote:http://www.plasti-kote.co.uk/Product/pcode---4651/pccode---3620#colour_chart

cultured marble does not take paint well...how about topping it with a well sealed wood counter top and sink that sit on top.

@Terry Kudos to you Terry, you were correct...Here is the response from Krylon: None of our product would work for your intended application. Cultured Marble is extremely slick and won't hold any of our coatings.

I have same problem..wore out cultured marble double vanity, after weighing my options I took a hammer to it and also took out vanity. I found two pedestal sinks at Lowes that would be cheaper to install than getting a new top( I did not want formica) now I need to repaint and find a small table/cabinet to go in between the two sinks.

@ Libby Wick @ Terry @ Lagree Wyndham Thank you all for your good suggestions :) Plastikote Canada doesn't have the stone effect and it cannot be sent to us. I can't replace the top, it is firmly and permanently attached to the base--I tried. I would lose my counter space if I went with 2 sinks--it is a 52 inch space. I am waiting on a custom vanity, because we cannot bring an assembled vanity around the corner without taking out a wall. I will paint the base a dark colour but was hoping to do something with the top.

Take a look at this, I thought about this until I realized how much I hated the vanity that was in there. I will be using the kitchen product on countertops in my kitchen, a bit more expensive but great reviews. http://www.armorgarage.com/

Hello, as a temporary fix, you could do some peel and stick on the counter top part.
