An Instant Old Sign Coffee Station to Fill Your Caffeine Fix!

My love for coffee runs deep. All the way to addiction, really. So I really wanted to celebrate that with a place to store my beloved coffee cups. You know... so they'd be within panic reach. Can you relate?
Gathering up a few planks of old fence wood, a few rusty S hooks and a cool stencil, this happened...
Now, excuse me while I go indulge just one more time... care to join me?
An instant coffee station can result from just a few fence planks and... rusty S hooks!

Let me show you just how easy this is to make. Perfect for non builders too!
It all started with a pile of boards from a collapsed fence. Ohhh, but their life was about to drastically improve through the wonderful world of coffee... who knew...
First, two fence planks were pressure washed, and used at full size. They were screwed to a support board underneath.
Like so. I wanted the support board behind the sign so it would protrude from the wall just a little. You'll soon see why.
Next up, let's letter up these plain boards to give them personality! I measured the middle of the board, then used the middle point registration on the stencil to position.

Old Sign Stencils are marked with signmaker registrations because I don't excel in math. Can you relate?
Because this old sign was positioned on two boards, I adjusted where to place the stencil, taping over areas I didn't wish to paint.

Within minutes, this. Oh my gosh... the words are truly subliminal. Are you feeling the need for a good caffeine hit yet?!
Now, the reason for the two spaced out boards is so I could slip in rusty S hooks to hold the cups! Quirky, right?

The protruding sign allowed for S hook placement. Perfection. And unexpected. Just the way I like it.

Lightly spraying over the rusty hooks with a matte sealer is a good idea where contact with dishes comes into play. Going over the board with a furniture wax is good too.
We all know coffee pods aren't all that pretty. So mine are hidden inside this drill handled toolbox.
And we are done! Coffee, anyone?

Wow! Too CUTE!!! I can't believe I just passed up an old wooden ironing board I couldn't figure out what I could use it for so I let it go and it was only $5, I'm kicking myself in the rear right now... haaaaaha! I have so many unfinished projects and too many thing I have bought or held onto just in case I thought I was making a good choice by not buying it, but now I see I missed out on an adorable much needed coffee bar. Grrrr =)
