Embellished Oven Mitts

Today I’m sharing some cute and fun Embellished Oven Mitts I made. These are 99 Cents Store Oven Mitts that I added fabric and buttons too to give them a more high end look and this is a great gift idea with Mother’s Day around the corner too.
They had lots of different colors and I love these bright orange and yellow for summer.
I remembered I had some of this fun stripe fabric left from when I did my Hubs Luau Party and made those fun Summer Fabric Banners and that great Summer Flip Flop wreath that you can see here if you like.
Here’s the Oven mitt’s I started with for 99 cents each.
I gathered my scraps of fabric left from those other projects.
I cut circles with a jar lid that would be the yo yo’s or flowers on the mitts.
Do you remember those vintage quilts that were all made up of yo yo’s? If you find one now you can sell it for $200 as they are a rare find but they are so cute and fun to make. You literally will take your needled and thread and sew small stitches around the edges of the circle. I folded the fabric over about 1/8″ and then sewed so the raw edge didn’t show after I did this blue one.
I hemmed the small ruffles and then gathered them onto the oven mitts and in two rows.
They came together super fast and you can do all different color combinations for friends or family for gifts.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa

Love them! Yes, I'd love to show a pair off in my kitchen. You could sell that for at least $5 a piece. Great job.
