No-Hoe Plastic Bag Garden
After growing gardens for 20 years, I'm over hoeing, weeding -- basically anything but planting and harvesting. So I'm a fan of plastic bag gardening. It's easy. Buy a bag of garden or top soil; cut out a drainage hole in the bottom,P and peel away the top plastic panel; and plant seeds in the soil.

Here's what a radish looks like growing in a plastic bag. I also planted carrots, which grew plump and sweet.

Mulch over the plastic, and no one knows you've taken a garden shortcut.
Can you find the plastic?
The best thing: No weeds grow in this virgin soil. I get about two years of hoe- and weed-free gardening from each bag of soil. Then, the weeds start showing up, I add the soil to my compost pile, and open a new bag. This is a great technique for gardeners who lack the space or healthy soil required to grow produce.

No reason you couldn't do it on a table. I'd put a wood pallet underneath the bag so it can drain. Good luck.
