Gardening Tips: Free & Green Weed Barrier

Have you ever used fabric or plastic weed barriers? If you have, you know they come with a whole host of problems, the least of which is that they don't work! And then, a year or two later, you're left with a tangled mess of weeds and fabric or plastic!
This method is not only free, but it's a great way to recycle.
And it works just as well as the commercial weed barrier, without the tangled mess.
This weekend, we worked on this area behind our farmhouse. We lined it with newspapers (check out the post for full directions) and mulched.

    I've used newspapers too. They work very well. And it takes quite awhile for them to decompose.
Next
