Our Pallet Hack!

Being renters changes the game. We wanted a basketball court but it had to be something that was not permanent. Our solution...pallets!!
We made an entire basketball court out of pallets and wood flooring. ALL FREE!!
Step 1 Measure size of court you will want and lay down weed barrier
Step 2 Bolt pallets together
Step 3 Lay down tongue and groove floor paneling attached with finishing nails
PRESTO! Instant, free, landlord approved, kid approved, basketball court!
Recycled pallets and recycled wood laminate flooring kept out of the landfills and repurposed! It has stood up to rain, sun, heat, ice and snow!!

Thank you for this!!!! Love it!!!

I have a few questions, if you don't mind

    1. Estimated cost

    2. Where did you find the material

    3. Measurements of the court you completed and the amount of material needed to complete the project. Ie. 10 pallets and 5 panels of wood flooring etc.

Thanks in advance for your time and patience.

Wood laminate flooring isnt meant for outdoors. I suggest using treated lumber instead. I scoured craigslist for used lumber and made a 20x25 halfcourt using pallets and treated lumber

How thick of plywood would you recommend using? Also wondering how well a ball will bounce? Wife gave me permission to start making my own court!
