Transforming an Ugly Fishing Shed to a Pretty Potting Shed!

When we moved to the lake we had this 10x10 shed that the previous owners had used to clean fish.
We ended using it to store stuff for a while. It had some redeeming qualities like electricity and running water, but it was U.G.L.Y.!!!
It is one of the first things you see when you come up to our house and I knew I wanted it to be functional, but pretty.
My goal was to block a lot of the wind without totally obstructing the view and of course to de-uglify it!! I also still wanted access to the 3 areas of the yard around the shed.
My husband came up the great idea to use 1x6's spaced a little bit apart, going most of the way up the wall and leaving "door" openings.
He also turned the interior supporting 1x6"s on their sides, giving me shelves all the way around for storage- bonus!!
I added a longer countertop, painted a faux tile floor (http://www.hometalk.com/8284756/the-flip-that-was-almost-a-flop-faux-tile-floor-30dayflip), an upcycled enamel table (http://www.hometalk.com/8112373/enamelware-table-up-cycle-30dayflip), a couple of chairs (http://www.hometalk.com/8101398/have-you-bottomed-out-30dayflip), a recycled light (http://www.hometalk.com/8248468/slaughter-the-70-s-an-ugly-ligh-re-do)
I also added some muslin curtains with burlap ribbon as trim (I have no illusions that they will last forever out there but they were cheap to make and I will just enjoy them as long as they last) , used drop cloths to make the covers for over the counter top and sink that hides plastic pots and other "non-pretty" things.
I also added flower beds in the front (http://www.lessonsfromthelake.com/build-flower-bed/)
And my smart husband even figured out a way to turn my fence section into a working gate!
There is lots more to see and I would love for you to stop by the lake (via the blog, of course!) to see the rest of my new potting shed!
