DIY BB Gun Target

When my son received his first BB Gun this past Christmas, we decided to create a DIY target for him to practice shooting with. It was really simple, with just a few wood boards, some empty tin cans, rope and a little paint!

First I cut the boards to create the frame for the target. I used what I had on hand in the scrap pile which turned out to be a few 2x2 boards and a 1x2 for the top. I assembled them to sort of resemble a mini soccer goal.

After assembling the frame, I painted it white.

Holes were drilled in the top so that we could thread some thin nylon rope down and hang soup cans on them. I spray painted the cans white and numbered them using a stencil and orange spray paint.

We notched a groove in the top board so that the discs could be wedged in them.

And that was it! We set up the target, donned our protective gear went over the shooting rules with our son. Now it's time to practice!
