Golden Rainbow Spring Wreath

I'm embarrassed to say that I only just took down the winter wreath that was hanging on our front door. My girls very politely informed me that it was time to put up something for spring (and make it a rainbow, Mom!). I scrounged around my craft supplies for a bit and came up with this Golden Rainbow Spring Wreath.
Full details on what I used can be found on my blog.

I began by spray painting the grapevine wreath and initial in gold. I'm huge into gold right now and thought it would work nicely with the rainbow my girls requested.
While they were drying, I started wrapping my styrofoam wreath in yarn. It takes a while to do, but I find it calming and it starts to go faster once I hit my groove.
I used pieces of matching yarn to connect all of the pieces. I just tied the yarn around both wreaths, one piece to each color, and then one last pice of yarn tied around the top of the G and the red. If you don't like the look of using yarn to connect everything, you can use a weatherproof adhesive or a hook system in the back so it isn't seen. I did it this way because it's what I had on hand.
This is such a fun wreath to see on our front door. It makes me smile every time I pull up and definitely screams spring. And, my girls approve!
