Succulent Welcome Sign

I had some left over succulents from a recent project and we needed a welcome sign to greet our friends and family. Add pallets and burlap to these awesome Chicks and Hens succulents and we have the perfect Welcome sign on our front porch

Start with an 8 inch cardboard letter "W" from a craft store. Cut it open.

Line the letter with plastic. I used hot glue and a plastic baggie, just cut off all the excess after you have it lined.

Once lined fill the letter with soil. Just fill to the top of the letter.

To hold the soil inside the letter wrap the letter in burlap. I used hot glue and wrapped and folded until the letter was nicely covered. With scissors cut small holes in the burlap to plant the succulents in. I used a toothpick to move the soil around and to feed the roots into the soil.

Continue around the letter planting succulents. Set your succulent letter aside

The letter is 8 inches and I wanted the pallet sign portion to be larger so I cut six 10 inch pieces of pallet boards.

Decide the layout of your pallets then flip them all over keeping the order and secure a scrap board to the back to hold them all in place.

Paint "elcome" on your pallets leaving room for the "W". When the paint is dry adhere the "W" to the sign. I used hot glue to hold it in place then put screws through the back of the pallet into the letter.
