Idea for how to hang plastic frame on wall

Julie
by Julie
I turned a plastic frame into an earring holder. Command strips worked for a few months, but the whole thing came crashing down one day. What's the best way I might be able to hang this up?
The frame is plastic

You should be able to buy a kit which contains small hooks and wire. That would be the best long-term solution. Otherwise, if it is light-weight, bulldog clips should do the trick.

@Julie Hi Julie, I had not realised that the frame is plastic, it looks like wood. I would then go for two bulldog clips (the type that are used to hold paper together) and clip them on to the top of the frame. They have holes in the top. You could use the holes to add string, and then hang it on the wall. If you do not want anything visible, try adding more of the command strip and attach it that way.

Smal eye hooks and wire should work. Easy too!

Would you mind describing in a little more detail? I don't know how to attach anything to the plastic. Glue? I don't know if I can screw or nail in anything to the frame directly, and prefer no visible hanging structurew

You can attach a small eye hook evenly on both sides of the frame and then twist the wire on both hooks and you'll have a secure place to hang your frame. It WILL go into the frame and not show if you position it lower so the wire doesn't show when you attach it to whatever you're hanging it on. These can be found at H. Lobby or big box stores.

The tiny eye screws that come with picture hanging kits should work. Drill a tiny pilot hole, fill it with glue then screw in the hooks.

Nails maybe I use one nail to hang one of my mirrors about the size of that

I'd use the type of screw in hangers for hanging wall mounted bathroom mirrors. You can get them in clear & they form a frame around the edges to hold it in place.

I was told this years ago, Buy the large straight sewing needles, lightly tap into wall measuring to the inside of the frames corners. The strongest hanging implement you will find and does the least amount of damage to your wall.

fix a wire or string across back of frame using eye hooks and then knock in a Picture hook or nail. That should do the trick
