Stop the Heart Attacks! Make a DIY Concrete Door Stop!

Super easy to make and super stylish too, a concrete door stop will save your sanity this season of open windows!
It's that time of year, open windows, yay! With it? Constantly slamming doors. Makes you jump every time, right? This lil' concrete door stop takes little time and effort to make, saving your heart palpitations for love instead. (Awww!)
I've seen snazzy concrete door stoppers on the interwebs and thought hey, concrete is cool, let's make some! You don't need much -- just a waxed cardboard container, some concrete and a few extras. Come read in depth details over on my blog, Flipping the Flip at!
After spraying the interior with optional mould release spray, mix up the concrete, dump it in, rattle the container to get out the air bubbles, then suspend an eye hook if you care to.
Take the concrete block out of the container after about 24 hours, let it set up some more, loop through some sisal rope, hot glue a square of rubber onto the bottom and bingo, you're bam-less! Ahh, the relaxing sounds of silence, yes?!

Another thing you may want to think about.... some people do not care for the bland look of a cement/concrete block. SO....get out the paints, wallpaper, fabric of any kind(scraps), and decorate it! why look at a boring, bland colored block, when you can decorate the heck out of it? Limits to the decorations? one is only limited by their imagination. is this going to a child's door? this would make a great project for the wee ones... seriously, if you decide to decorate this block, there is no such thing as a wrong way to decorate. kind of like "Military Intelligence"....does not exist. : p

Thank you very much for reading! I could tell you meant no foul by your word choice so no worries. You are right, not everyone likes a bare concrete look so sharing all your great ideas was a helpful tip for sure. Thanks!
