Home Sweet Home Mailbox

I'm a fan of decorating our mailbox at least three times a year...winter, spring/summer and fall. I think it brings a smile to most passersby and of course, to our mail lady!
We needed a new mailbox since our old one finally rotted out. I didn't mind the rust (I like rusty, crusty things) however, the door was broken and couldn't be fixed so I bought a new one and spray painted it grey to match the trim and door on our house.
I didn't want to leave it plain so, Home Sweet Home came to my mind. I stenciled the letters and made the birds from pics I found in Google. I made my own stencil for them using plain paper and added some highlights with a brush for more of a hand painted effect.
The morning glories and greens on top are faux to add more prettiness until fall!

I love it! I was thinking of doing something like this to our mailbox. I also love the faux greens and flowers!! I have plenty of flowers growing in the ground around it but I wanted something for around the top of the post and mailbox. Now I know!!! Thanks so much for the inspiration!!
