Upcycled Pallet Hanging Planter Box

I saw this idea in a cafe courtyard setting last year, and thought I must have one!
So this is how I made an Upcycled Pallet Hanging Planter.
First, dismantle the pallet using a long crow bar to lever off the wood.

Take all the boards off except the last two.
The pallet should look like this now...
Cut the long pieces off...and check that it is square.
Nail another board on. Trim ends. Like this - this is the back of the planter.
Then add a bottom board
And another for the front, trimming ends as you go. File the rough edges off.
Paint if desired.
On each end, nail two staple nails.
Thread through rope and bind with wire.
I recycled some old pots and got planting! I bought some iceplants and used seedlings and a garden cutting.
And this is the end result!

I can't wait for the plants to grow and cascade over the edge more.

Even still, I think it's pretty cute just like this!

This would be so cute to fill with herbs and place on the deck just outside the kitchen!

Oh I love this! I've had something like this rattling around in my head. You just completed the picture. Thanks! That's my way of saying "I'll be copying you"
