It's the little things that keep a home in good shape.
-Sink aerator cleaning
-Smoke and carbon monoxide detector testing
-Air filter replacement
-Water heater TPR valve test
-GFCI outlet test
-Water filter replacement
-Clean gutters (more seasonal dependent)
Clean the aerator in the sink for better water flow.
Monthly testing is important ensure functionality of the smoke detector.
Replace the air filter every month if you have pets or a lot of dust. Otherwise, replacing it every 2-3 months is fine.
An often overlooked task is testing the safety valve on the top of the water heater.
Test and reset each GFCI outlet in the house to check functionality.

Inevitably your smoke detectors will start chirping in the middle of the night the signal that the battery is low. I would add that having a few spare 9 volt batteries on hand is smart.
