How to clean wicker plant stand?

I bought at a yard sale a beautiful, tall in-house wicker plant stand. I just love it but it is so dirty and parts of it are almost black. I am sure that is mold. But I am not sure what is the best way to clean it, as I live in an apartment.

I love a good yard sale find! I'd start by giving it a thorough spray with canned air, like what you use to clean electronics, to get excess dirt and dust out of the small nooks and crannies. Then I'd soak it for a few minutes in a large bucket or tub of water with a really mild bleach solution and scrub it with a scrub brush. You can always re-soak for a little longer if you're not happy with what's coming off. The black areas might not come off completely, but spray paint is a great solution if there's a nice color you have in mind - or a crisp, bright white!

Put it in the shower or bathtub and spray it down with a bleach solution. You can then easily rinse it. Let it dry thoroughly. Spray paint is a great option!

Old paint brushes are good when dusting or cleaning wicker. gets in the cracks without tearing the wicker

I'd use a variety of brushes (bottle, etc.) and give a good cleaning with soapy water with some bleach added. Once dry, you can give a spray stain/poly combo finish to get all the nooks and crannies.

Cleaning with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda deeps cleans and helps remove stains.

I would use a watered down bleach , hose it off good and let it in dry in the sun. wicker does not like to be wet If the sun is not drying it use a hair dryer

Bleach can make wicker brittle. I would soak it down by spraying it with soapy water, let that set, then use a med bristle brush to clean it. then spray it outside with clear water, let it dry out a bit to see if you need to repete. then spray it with vinegar to kill any mold. At that point then decide what color I wanted to paint it

Anything "basketry" can be soaked in water, soaped down and rinsed. Then you just let it dry. Depending on how sturdy it is, scrubbing with a brush is definitely ok. If it has stains that won't go away, spray painting is an idea that usually looks good.

I would just go to Wallmart and get spray paint for wicker and paint it the color you would like and then put some polyeuthurne, spell right? on for if you are going to have outside and it wont ruin it if it rains. I hope this helps
