Chimney Sweep and Fires

Did you know that many chimney fires each year without the homeowner even realizing it? While these smaller fires may stay contained within the chimney, they can cause structural damage.
As smoke passes up the flue it leaves behind deposits of creosote and soot on the tile liners. With the right spark the creosote can start a fire. Get a professional to sweep these deposits out at least once a year for wood-burning units.
In between cleaning make sure to only burn seasoned dry wood. Freshly cut wood will have moisture that makes it hard to burn and will make a lot of smoke. And don't let fires smolder for hours after dying down. If the fire is dwindling down, fully extinguish it.

  • Fire or smoke damage is one of the worst situations one could face and bringing thissituation under control is not an easy task. The best way to deal with thissituation is to call an experts. I have been in this trade for many years and I think in this condition one should contact withinsurance company and report regarding the damage that happen. Nice video you have shared.
