Anyone have ideas on how to keep cats from pooping in mulch/gravel?

I have tried pepper, store bought stuff, nothing seems to bother them. Thanks.

I haven't tried this yet, but I've heard that lemon peels scattered generously throughout the area can keep the cats away.

Did you try cayenne pepper? It works in the garden to keep varmints away from new plants. Good luck!

Moth balls work to keep them from urinating on our patio deck, and we haven't seen any poop. The only thing with moth balls they disintegrate, so you would have to replenish them. We do our patio every couple of weeks, sometimes longer. I think once they go up to our patio and smell them once or twice they don't come back.

Put a cup of Bleach in a plastic margine container. I don't know if it is the smell they do not like or what but it works

Scatter coffee grounds. If possible, put some sticks or other debris on the spot for a few days, too.

Try putting some chicken wire over the area and hose down well until they get the idea this is not litter. They keep coming back because the scent is there.

I use a motion activated sprinker. I also have a motion activated light so if any animals come after dark they get a wet surprise.

We had a cat using our window well as his toilet, spraying on the window. I tried it all too, with no luck. Then someone told me a sure thing. Finely grind up one aspirin. USING A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE ASPIRIN. ( I guessed the am't )mix it with several tablespoons of tuna. MIX WELL. Using a jar cap put this mixture right near where the cat visits. It won't be able to resist eating it. This will give him a belly ache at worst ( remember not too much of the aspirin). The cat will remember where he got sick from & NOT RETURN. worked great for me.

Aspirin can be fatal to felines. That was cruel and u should have done some reading b4 drugging an animal.

I have done the cayenne pepper, sprinkled around the flower bed and reapplied after rain/water. Also, when I moved into my current home, I put bird netting down on the ground so that they couldn't dig. Worked like a charm and no harm done.

dogs and cats dont like citrus. (lemons/oranges) sprinkle the peelings from a lemon or orange or both around the area..... worked wonders

I have had a his problem myself with to many neighbors cats.So I began trying different things. The only thing that lasts is Irish Spring Soap, cut in quarter s out in a piece of stocking and tied with a string to a stick.placed throughout the flowerbeds. They do not like the smell and it keeps out bugs, rabbits, deer, anything that eats your plants or garden. Or craps in your flower beds
