Inexpensive and Easy DIY Medal

While looking for ideas on Pinterest for pinewood derby awards I came across a cute idea for using a bubble tape (gum) container. This idea can be used for any sort of award or recognition. I thought it would be cute for anything from use in the classroom to birthday parties. I would like to link the Pinterest site, but when clicking on it, there was only a picture with no link to any website. So here are the directions below on how I recreated the award.
First seal the seams. I wanted to the leave gum inside - what is the fun of removing it??? So I used a little white glue to fill the seams so paint would not get inside.
Spray paint... I used two coats. The first layer was sprayed very lightly and the second was for coverage. I used gold, but any color could be used depending on what you will be using this for.
Attach the ribbon. I used hot glue. I figured that these would not last long once they were in the kids hands so I did not go to extremes in attaching the ribbon.
Add your front decal. I just cropped part of the award certificate that was being given to the boys so that they would coordinate. Again I just attached with white glue.
Here are the final awards. This was a quick easy project that the boys will love. If you are interested, I will leave a link to the website where I got the free awards below in the comment section.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I look forward see see what ideas you guys come up with for using this easy DIY medal.
