I am interested in putting a small garden on top of my septic tank or any ideas. The area is surrounded by my flower garden that I need to water.
The area is the size of a sheet of plywood

Never a good idea to cover a septic tank. Also check building codes.

Have you ever checked out the Hypertufa Rocks? You can make them yourself and they're light weight so they can be moved easily. You could make boulders plus smaller rocks, add some potted plants and other decor, this way it could be moved if need be.https://www.pinterest.com/julieharnisch/

When we lived in the country I planted flowers on the tank, but left a space the lid was under so the waste company could get to it. You could put a small lawn ornament on it that would be light enough to move easily.

Maybe a removable (or floating) deck. Then, decorate to your taste.

I always plant in pots and then place them where they look nice. I recommend not permanently covering your septic tank because you never know when they may have to go into it. Whatever you do, do not plant a willow tree nearby. We had to pull the matted roots from our septic tank because they stopped the tank up. And this tree was 10 feet or more away. Good luck with your endeavor!

When we moved into our house there was a big, ugly A/C unit on the side of the house. Lucky for us the previous owners had planted shrubs along the side of it that faces the street.maybe you can try shrubs?

Hi the answers above are great, but just a lil idea from me, what about buying some Rush the same size you need, and put pretty planters on it ....that's what I would do, then it would look pretty and also Rustic......Jill UK

Hi there, it's like wooden reeds, wired together, so you can order as much or as little amount as you need, it's like ..wish I had a pic to show you, it's like individual reeds/Brush, they look like very thin branches, imagine a Broom with Wooden type Bristles....imagine those Bristles four or five feet high, but wired so they are side by side each piece, you can't really see the wire as it's very thin wire to hold it all together......maybe you could google B@Q....in UK.....probable under name of Brush fencing or Brushwood Fencing......people over here call it a lot of things, sorry for confusing you.....good luck, it's really nice rustic look, like a creamy pine colour, although I have seen it in a darker shade....😀
