Weather Proof Outdoor Pillows

$5.00
Easy
I wanted some outdoor pillows to help add some color to my backyard space. I definitely needed something weather proof. We get a lot of rain in the spring. So this is what I came up with.
I used vinyl tablecloths that I picked up for $2.50 each and stuffed them with plastic grocery bags. (A tip I learned from Diane Henkler at In My Own Style) I wanted to make something more than just a plain pillow so I added some stenciling to a few of them.
If you have a Cricut Explore or a Silhouette you can do this much faster than my method but I had to do it the old fashioned way. I printed my words onto sticker paper then cut out the stencil using an exacto knife. It took some patience because I am not the best with this tool but I did it. I stuck the paper down to the pillow front before it was sewn and spray painted using a paint that would bond to the plastic tablecloth.
They turned out pretty good and any rough edges were easily smoothed out with a sharpie.
I made a couple of the smaller lumbar pillows and two that have a checkerboard front. It think they turned out so fun.
We have had rain for the past two days and all is well with the outdoor pillow decor! What do you think?
