Broken Lamp Bird Bath

How to make a pretty bird bath with an outdated / broken lamp!
Make sure you check out my full tutorial here for each and every step!
After acquiring your old lamp, simply remove the electrical components- you likely won't need anything more than a screwdriver to do this.
I liked this lamp because it has that nice, wide, top base. BUT I needed to remove the "nipple" (that tall pipe through the middle).
After that was cut off, I painted and waterproofed the lamp base.
After everything dried, it was time to attach the actual "bath" part! When I had thrifted my lamp, I had also found this pretty glass seashell-shaped platter. Nice and shallow for the birds!
I carefully sealed the platter to my lamp base and then voila- my birdbath!
After everything had set and cured, I placed it in our yard and added a little water.

Check Amazon under shell shaped and clam shaped plates. There are some pretty ones on there.
