Does anyone have cool ideas to use up some old barn wood we salvaged?

The pieces are a nice weathered gray in various lengths & widths I want to do something small besides just picture frames.

Do a focal wall in one of your rooms by nailing up the planks, either vertically or horizontally, for a really cute shabby chic look. I'm planning on doing a kitchen wall and ceiling like this. There are a lot of ideas on the web!

I've used reclaimed pallet wood to cover a wall, it looks great, I'd bet the barn wood would look even better. A quite pass through a planer to take out uneven surfaces and you can build anything.

Hi I just took a piece of 114 year old barn wood and made a coat rack out of it for my nieces baby. I turned it into a barn with farm animals as the hooks. I will try to add a pic but I am having a hard time getting it downloaded right now. Just be careful with the barn wood if it is REALLY old as it will eventually crumble. After I put a paint wash on mine I also put a clear wax over it so that it doesn't fall apart. It really does just turn to crumbs after a while. How much barn wood do you have?? If you have a lot you can build tables, carts, kitchen islands...the possibilities are endless!

You can make shelves, wall hangings ( use a wood burner), I just tore down our old barn. I'm using the doors inside my house, I have barn wood walls, and made a dog treat & leash holder. Plan on doing much more. You can also sell it, guess its a hot commodity to some, run ad on Craigslist.
