How often do you check your driveway for cracks and fill them in?

Constant sun exposure will wear away the oils in your asphalt, and freezing and refreezing during winter causes cracks. To combat these elements, it’s important to fill cracks and reseal your driveway, but how often? See our recommendation: http://bit.ly/DrivewayInspection

I have to tell you, I live in an 1870's stone farm house on a hill, and I never ever do anything to the driveway. Having a jet black asphalt surface is an aesthetic, just like a rolled lawn. You don't have to drive yourself crazy on this. I get as extreme weather as anyone in the u.s., and my drive was down very cheaply and poorly in 1960. Some plants are coming through, but it isn't to the point yet where I'll widen the flower beds.Relax.

Asphalt cracks need to be filled. In winter water will fill & freeze. When the water freezes it expands & makes the cracks bigger.
