Patriotic American Flag Decoration

I wanted to add a little red, white and blue to my front door for the summer patriotic holidays, but I wanted something that would last a long time. So, I used some leftover wood garden stakes, and I created this beautiful American flag.
We had a bunch of wood garden stakes that were used to make another project, but they were longer than I needed. So, I had my husband trim them to the size I wanted.
Then, it was time to begin turning these plain wooden stakes into Old Glory! I taped off the areas and began painting. It was much easier to get the lines straight this way.
When all of the pieces were painted, I glued the stakes together and stenciled on the stars.
I added a wire hanger and some festive ribbon, and the flag was ready to decorate our front door. I liked this so much that I made another one for inside!
