Added Life to a Antique Dresser

This sweet antique dresser has been in many lives. It was made in the 1800's and has always lived with family. It is in very good condition other than a badly needed paint job. I used this dresser in my four children's rooms when they were young and it has been in my grandchildren's nursery as well. It's just the perfect size for a little one. It was now made it's way back to me and I am giving it some tender loving care.
Originally it was stained a reddish brown. Then repainted in white with flowered stencils.
As I was preparing the chest for painting I noticed some old news paper ads that were glued to the inside. I thought that this was very remarkable and it gave me some kind of idea how old the piece is.
This is the other side. If you can read up side down it talks about the railroads.
The mirror is in very good condition. I chose to paint all of it white with white chalk paint, except the drawers.
I painted the drawers a nice dove gray chalk paint. I chose to leave the same hardware on it, I love the little key holes on it and the secret drawers.
However one of the small drawers disappeared over time so I just leave it be.
I really love the two tone look and it fits very well with my Romantic Farmhouse decor.
I was apprehensive about painting the little chest thinking that I should leave it the original color for resale purposes but this has been in our family for a very long time and will be long after I am gone. It's a keeper.
