I have a serious problem of adoring living room pillows and then getting bored of them quickly. New pillows on the sofa is the easiest way to freshen up a room or add new color. It makes a home look cute and comfortable. The problem is I love changing them! And let me tell you that spending $20-$40 per pillow is not my style. Um, no thank you. Because they are so pricey, I've learned to sew pillows myself and switch them up in various ways. And now I've found another way to make your own cute pillows for cheap. These are DIY Shower Curtain Pillows sewn from a $20.00 fabric shower curtain. That's $5 per pillow.
Aren't they cute? I found my shower curtain at Target for $20.
I was able to make 4 nice fluffy sofa pillows.
More info on my blog of how I made them. The shower curtain was so easy to measure out and you only need basic sewing skills to make these.
Suggested materials:
  • Shower curtain   (Target)
  • Pillow stuffing   (reuse)

Great idea! I love decorative throw pillows, too. Lately, I seem to be "oving" the pillows in the $40-60 range. For one pillow! I've found some great prices on fabric remnants to make my own. But it seems the pillow filling is the most expensive part and by the time your done filling an average sized throw pillow, you've spent at least $30! My question(s): What have you found looks the best as a fill and how much do you need per pillow for this tutorial? What's the cost for the fill for one pillow and where do you find is the most inexpensive place to buy the full? Thanks for any advice!
