Massive Gallery Wall

When we moved into our {rental} house over a year ago I knew a gallery wall would be perfect for the large amount of space and high ceilings in the living room. I kept putting it off not sure what I would put up there, and knowing I would want to update the photos or art in some of my frames. Then one day I decided to stop waiting around to get everything perfect and just get it started. So I “shopped” our house looking for frames and random items I could display on the wall. I knew I would likely make changes over time, but figured if I didn’t get to it now, it may never get done. By the way, Command picture hanging strips can be your bff when you're renting or looking to avoid several nail holes. You can view the full post over on my blog, upcycledtreasures.com

Creating a massive gallery wall

Here is the before photo of the wall. After I had a collection of items I laid everything down on the floor until I had an arrangement I liked.

I then traced the frames/items onto wrapping and kraft paper and taped those onto the wall so I could see how it would look. Afterwards I either nailed or used command strips to hang everything up. This photo was over a year ago so things have changed a bit over time.

Here is what the gallery wall looks like now.

I just love how it's filled with DIY projects and upcycled finds.

I would say 90% of what's on the wall was DIYed in some way or another.

I still plan to change out some of the prints but I still LOVE the impact this wall makes in our living room.

I had (what I thought was) a great gallery hallway…hubby took it all down, filled in all the nail holes when he repainted…says I don’t NEED all those pictures up anymore (they were all family pictures, and they made me happy) now the hallway is blank…and Boring!
