    I grow my orchids in the shade under the trees next to my pond in the summer and they are beautiful, in the winter we bring them inside, because New Orleans weather can be pretty cold, I also use baskets with coconut straw they are great.

    @Merle I do exactly what you are doing and my orchids are beautiful. I do add fish "poop" from my Koi pond instead of water when watering them. That is my secret.
