Stairway Wainscoting

One thing my husband and I have always dreamed about having in a house is that beautiful stairway wainscoting going up the stairs. The crisp white detail takes the stairs to a whole new level (pun intended!)
This was actually one of the hardest projects I've ever done because of that slanted wall right there.
I spent countless hours measuring, cutting both miter and bevel cuts, and then specialty cuts that I can't explain here. This is mostly just to share my finished results!
We are super happy with the end result of our project. I've already started hanging pictures above it for a pretty gallery wall. Check out the blog post for all the details!
Here's what it looked like before...so boring (yawn!)
The wainscoting continues down the stairs into the entry and I am in love with this space now! I also painted those french doors dark gray. (Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal).

Wow! The difference is like nIght and day! It adds so much character that I love in the old homes too! This gives me hope as we leave our old , character filled home to care for my parents in their plain ranch. I'm now inspired that with some creative woodwork, we could transform their home too!
