Christmas ornaments

Question

My daughter made me some beautiful ornaments several years ago. They used clear glass globes, poured paint inside and made some very interesting ornaments. I asked her what kind of paint, etc she used, but she was still in school and couldn't remember how she did it, I would like to begin making some of these this year. Any suggestions? Trying to get an early start!

Acrylic craft paints work well on glass. I used to decorate clothing store windows to create a 3-D effect and often used regular old craft paints because they were thick enough and basically peeled off with a razor blade. You can pour paint into an ornament, flip it over and let it run down to coat the inside. Acrylic - not water base. Dries like rubber/latex.

I made them years ago and just used acrylic paints that you can find at any craft store, including wal-mart.

I used iridescent craft paint in blues and greens and it ended up like a peacock feather. The colors were perfect for my themed tree. Try spritzing in some alcohol (you can try on paper or even a regular glass to get an idea) or thinning with water and just swirling around.
