Patriotic Duct Tape Placemats

Perusing the dollar store aisles... as one is apt to do... I noticed red and blue duct tape. With a week to go before the 4th of July, I decided to get patriotic! These won't work if you're entertaining the queen, but... for a family of kids, they're the perfect cost effective way to bring in some red, white and blue! Oh yeah... the whole project cost $5.

How's that for a patriotic table setting?! $5 at the dollar store will get you a set of these beauties.

2 rolls each of blue and red duct tape, and a set of plain Jane placemats. (Or... a vinyl tablecloth that you can cut to size... my dollar store had placemats.) Check out my blog for a video of the process in case that would be helpful.

I think they're so cute. Also since you didn't wrap the tape around the edge, they are reversible!

Great DIY. I also saw it too late but Labor Day is coming. However the little flags are a no no. Never use flag for decoration where it will be abused and discarded in trash. The rest was great inspiration. Love the wagon so americana. Thanks
