Shrink-wrap on cabinet doors

Question

I have a rv with medium brown cabinet doors.  I find the interior very dark and would like to lighten the look with out painting the doors.  Painting will decrease the value of the unit.  Has anyone used something like a shrink wrap over the doors, which could be removed later.  I am struggling with this one.

If you own it, I would paint them even if the value will change. Per the picture, I think paint would make it look better. It looks very dated.

Janel-the rv is only one year old. I can't imagine why they do not make rv interiors brighter. But we would lose about 5K of value by painting so not an option. This interior is in pecan which is very popular but not my thing when living in it for months.

Can you change out the backsplash? That's a big dark thing in the kitchenette. If the cabinets are real wood, could you whitewash them? I can't imagine that a gorgeous custom treatment would lower the value!

lighter backsplash in a matte color - not shiny - and can you have someone rout out the middle section of the top cabinet doors and replace it with glass? I have seen both the interior of cabinets painted white or a light color through glass, or even get lights inside the cabinet. Even under the top cabinets

I think it's lovely. A friend of mine brought color into their camper with accessories. Colorful canisters, throw pillows and area rugs. 
Another way to lighten it would be to add under cabinet lighting.

I think adding color in one form or another is the way to go. There are so many shades of brown and beige, it's hard to immediately see that the cabinets are actually nice ones. I would pick a color that pops such as turquoise, although I'm more a a warm color gal (think adobe, dark peach, although I love shades of blue). As for the wrap you are asking about, is it like the ones they put on cars? I would think that would damage the wood more than refinishing them, but, you would actually need to talk to someone who installs that product. I didn't even know they did that with vehicles until my daughter and son-in-law had one done on their catering truck! I guess I thought they still painted or stenciled that stuff on!

Thank-you for all the good ideas. I can easily install a new backsplash and perhaps put a beige carpet on the floor. I am going to investigate having new doors made for the uppers or perhaps ones from Ikea if the right size. I truly like turquoise and aqua with brown so maybe some accessories in those colours....thanks all

I think they have film now that will stick on but peels off and is not sticky so it wont pull the finish off your cabinet fronts, try doing a search on window films.

I ann about to try this film onnthe countertop of aN rv. It has decent reviews. they have so many colors, and it's made in GA so you may be able to talk to them about a solid white you could use for the cabinets.
