I found this lovely vintage vanity waiting to be loved again. However, the veneer was peeling and had seen better days.
Before
Cracking along the bottom
I found a lovely canvas painting at a dollar store for $20. I cut it up into the pieces needed for the project. I decoupaged it with a matte finish mod podge
Left side
I used a flat cream latex paint mixed with a cocoa tinted paint to paint over the dark veneer.
Right side
I used gold guilding to highlight the woodwork which was unnoticeable until now.
Blue painted drawers
A good tip for old drawers is to slide a bar soap along the edges of the drawer. It pulls out easily now.
Canvas cutout
I decided to cut out this butterfly and a few flowers to mod podge as accents.
The paint n gold accents were distressed then the whole piece was waxed using AS clear wax
I love the finished product!! How about you?
