A Coffee Table Update Rustic Style

When I updated my living room recently, I was forced to find a new coffee table to fit my new furniture arrangement. I’d always wanted a round coffee table after all, and since I love a bargain I started searching Craigslist for a round coffee table. I finally scored and found one the perfect size I needed. Let me show you how I updated it!
When I first saw this coffee table, I knew it would need some work. There were scruffs and scratches, not to mention the legs had been broken off of it. The college kids I bought it from were not kind to this table, but I knew it deserved a better life. I decided to give it an update, rustic style!
I decided to add a new base to the coffee table, and I already had one on hand from a previous junk store purchase. My hubby gave the "new" base a fresh coat of white paint, then added a couple of L-brackets to the middle of the base so he could attach it to the wood top with screws.
He sanded the wood top to reveal the beautiful colored wood underneath, not to mention get rid of those dents and scratches! A coat of sealer was all that was needed before it was ready for use.
I love everything about this coffee table now. The beautiful white legs, the natural wood top, the round shape, it’s a perfect fit for our living room space.
I know I could have purchased one at the store, but it’s so much more fun finding a deal on Craigslist and creating what you want. The grand total for this coffee table was a mere $38 including all supplies. Not bad, huh?
