Can anyone tell me the name of this plant and how to get it to flower?

Just offhand, looks like orchid leaves - maybe flowering is in the dormant stage?

Looks like a Kaffir Lily aka Clivia .....I have them that flower orange, and some that flower yellow. They like shade with 1 -2 hours of morning or late afternoon sun. Feed 1 x a month with miracle grow, in the growing season, increase sun gradually to prevent sunburn. Here's one of mine that I have for sale for $25.contains several fans. 5 gallon.

It could also be an amaryllis but if it is, it has far more leaves than I usually see on one. You'll know once it flowers. Either one needs a little full sun before flowering. The Amaryllis has a large bulb. The clivia does not, just fat roots.

This one I do know. I have several and they are all called Clivia. It is a slow growing thick green leaf plant. Mine took two years to finally bloom and it was worth the wait. The flowers fragrance alone is intoxicating. It is true about them not liking direct sun, however; some indirect or hour of morning sun great for these unusual house plants.

This looks exactly like my Amaryllis. Mine likes full sun, don't let it dry out completely, likes Miracle Gro, and can be planted in my zone 7 but mulch well before winter.
