DIY Dog Gate For Your Porch

We love to spend time on our porch, and our dogs love to spend time with us. We've had some stressful evenings, however, because our sweet dogs don't stay in one place. They take off after babies in strollers, and the scent of chipmunks.
Our solution is a wooden dog gate for the porch made from 2x2's glued and screwed together and then painted the same color as our trim.
Head over to my blog, Reinvented (link is below) to see the finished product and how it looks on our front porch! We are excited now to spend some warm evenings on our porch.

My dogs still won't hold still for a photo, but at least now they stay on the porch as well as this laid back dude. :)

Love your idea. My trouble is my porch is brick & I rent. I need it more for the 1 cat that gets out & wants to take off. I only have 1 hand rail on 1 side that isn't up to code. Its open but for 2x4 at each end & top. Need it for back porch to & same problem. Any suggestion's?

This is great idea, I love how it slides into place without hooks or anything. We are using an old wooden baby gate that is just barely long enough to stay in place, but it is a pain to move when one of needs to get off the porch. I'm going to get my hubby to make one like yours!

No question, but noticed that looks like a Boxer. The gate explains lot.🤣

    Giving this a try.
