It may just be a wiring problem. I had the opposite problem a couple of weeks ago - working fan, dead lights. Some of the troubleshooting ideas listed here might help in your case: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/repair/electric/q-light-bulb-problem-873716 Is the fan on a wall switch? That might be the best place to start figuring out the problem. If you can, test if there is power going to the switch. If so, the switch might need to be replaced.

    Thank you.
  • Could be anything from the pull chain to the wiring connection to the fan motor. If your a DIYer then give er a go with those things in mind otherwise, if you are uncomfortable with troubleshooting, call an electrician.

do you hear any "hum" when the fan part is turned on? I have know some fans to "stall". If you hear a hum giving the blades a spin with broom handle might get them going. ( this problem is often due to old fans that have bearings that are drying up) some higher quality fans use oil in the bearings which prevents this.

No hum. It was fairly new when it stopped spinning. I had one that I could spray wd40 into, and give it a spin and it would do the trick but that was a different problem. I was hoping that this one may just have a loose connection. Thanks for the help.
