Hipster Bedroom - Midcentury Dresser & Retro Stereo Feature Wall

It's so true - everything old IS new again! This post features a midcentury dresser makeover and a retro stereo feature wall.
First, the dresser. I found the dresser at a local auction. It was clearly outdated in it's blonde state and old hardware, but the midcentury lines and style fit the space perfectly.
I ended up winning the dresser at the auction for $100. We brought it home, gave it a quick cleaning and light sanding. Then, because of the slick, shiny surface, I applied a quick primer coat with BIN 123 primer. I used Behr paint from The Home Depot in an eggshell finish to paint the dresser. The color is called Expresso Beans and is a deep, dark brown.
I finished the dresser with two light coats of a satin water based varnish for protection. I also updated the hardware with these nickel pulls from The Home Depot.
Seth found a vintage Technique stereo at a yard sale and it fits on the dresser perfectly. He's building a nice vinyl collection - who would have thought that vinyl records would make a comeback! The artwork was found on Etsy and the hooks for the headphones are from Ikea.
We hung these vintage speakers taken from an old radio cabinet above each poster. I hope you will stop by my blog to see how we hung the speakers and more details of how we brought this retro space together.
