DIY Upholstered Headboard

$36
30 Minutes
Easy
I recovered a king size headboard for our guest room and only spent $36.
I spent $36 using a cotton canvas painters tarp & some padding. That’s right…a canvas painters tarp.
I had seen ideas for using canvas drop clothes as drapes on Pinterest, which gave me the idea to use one for my fabric on this project. I just went to our local hardware store and picked one up and got started.
These are the 3 items that I used;

A canvas painters tarp that I got at the hardware store for $27
Some batting that I bought on sale for $9 at Walmart
And a staple gun
Here is the bed before:First,

I stapled the batting to the headboard to thicken it up and give the headboard a padded look. This quilt batting is folded in half, doubling the thickness.Then I cut the tarp in half (they are huge) with scissors and ironed it with lots of steam.

The next step is to simply place the ironed canvas over the batting and neatly staple it to the headboard on the back side.
And the bed after:
This project was incredibly easy and took me no time at all to complete.
